Our journey began in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, where we both grew up surrounded by the rich tapestry of our cultures and traditions. This connection to our heritage was something we cherished deeply, and we knew that we wanted to pass down this love for our roots to our two beautiful children, Koko (our older son) Henry and Meimei (our younger daughter) Lucy. However, as we found ourselves thousands of miles away from our homelands, here in the heart of Washington, we faced a challenge.
How could we ensure that our children grew up with a strong sense of their cultural identity and a genuine appreciation for the traditions we held dear? It was this question that sparked the idea behind Kokomei Workshop.
